Herbicide Chlamydomonas reinhardii

Modes of Herbicide Action as Determined with Chlamydomonas reinhardii and Coulter Counting... [Pg.231]

Synchronously grown Chlamydomonas reinhardii cells were used for the differentiation between different physiological modes of herbicide action. The cells were counted with a Coulter Counter and the volume spectrum was obtained by an adapted Channelyzer,... [Pg.231]

In green plants and algae, such as Chlamydomonas reinhardii, one of the reaction center proteins of photosystem II is the herbicide-binding, rapidly turning over 32 kDa protein (D -protein). It is synthesized in the chloroplast as a precursor protein of about 34 kDa, which normally is not found in living cells. Processing occurs on its way via stroma thylakoids and palmitoylation to reaction center II in the grana (1). [Pg.315]
