2 Characterising Spatial Heterogeneity of Soils at Anthropogenic Sites the Testfeld Sud 

During field survey the soils were described according to the German soil classification system KA 4 (AG Boden, 1994), which allows the classification of natural and anthropogenic soils based on genetic and morphologic features. 

Six different soil forming materials were found and defined as the pedofacies of the Testfeld Slid. These pedofacies are 

remnants of the gas production, non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL), like oils, creosote, tar (NL)  

pedogenically transformed loamy alluvial deposits, brown, low carbonate content (ptLAD)
