Cephalin kaolin time

The activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), also known as the kaolin-cephalin clotting time (KCCT), primarily evaluates the intrinsic system. In-vitro coagulation of plasma is initiated by the addition of negatively charged particles such as kaolin with phospholipid, and calcium and exogenous thromboplastin. 

Nizatidine 300 mg daily for 2 weeks had no significant effect on the prothrombin times, kaolin-cephalin clotting times, the activity of factors II, Vn, XI and X, or on steady-state semm warfarin levels in 7 healthy subjects taking warfarin. A lack of a pharmacokinetic interaction was also reported in the preliminary results of another study. An isolated case of gastrointestinal bleeding, associated with markedly prolonged prothrombin times, occurred after a 78-year-old took six doses of nizatidine 300 mg. ... 

P l sma ri ch n j)lajtej ejts (PRP) For plasma rich in platelets obtained by centrifugation (at 1200 revolutions/minute) of citrated fresh blood, the number of platelets was measured with a Thoma s cell and the aggregability in presence of ADP or collagen, the factor F3P and the time of cephalin kaolin (TCK) were determined. 

Replacement of the glass surface by films of the 4 polymers increases the number of platelets present in the plasma after contact with the materials. After one hour of contact, for instance, the number of platelets was increased by 3 % for the homopolymer S, 18 % for the copolymer SG, 19 % for the homopolymer G and 75 % for the copolymer SE. Furthermore, this classification was confirmed by the determination of the aggregability, the factor F3P and the time of cephalin kaolin.
