Genotoxic stress cell death induced

In summary, it seems that at present we are unable to draw a general scheme of cell death events that would be true for and would explain the feamtes of all the different, genotoxic stress-induced cell death pathways. While the role of PARP-1 in cell death is a controversial subject, we have learnt that the mechanism of cytotoxicity, and the role of PARP in it, has to be deciphered individually for each cellular model, keeping in mind that these models of cell death may only show a partial overlap.
