Cascade reactions omaezakianol

In 2010, Xiong and Corey reported a short and efficient total synthesis of (-l-)-omaezakianol in only six steps from squalene via a biomimetic epoxide-initiated cationic cascade reaction (Scheme 13.6) [7].
