Carbon footprint and the textile industry

According to estimates, textiles and clothing typically account for around 4 per cent of the secondary carbon foot print of an individual in the developed world. Thanks to a munber of factors including the growing awareness of environmental concerns, and perhaps more importantly, the benefits the textiles industry hopes to reap from reducing its carbon footprint, the industry has taken several initiatives in the direction of reducing its carbon footprint. [Pg.59]
