Camera-ready artwork

For line art, submit original camera-ready artwork, printouts, stats, or glossy photographs. For continuous-tone prints, submit the original photographs. Mount stereoviews so that they can be used without modification (see p 294). Be sure that the distances between similar points are between 5.5 and 6.4 cm. Submit all original art with the original manuscript and photocopies of all the art with each copy of the manuscript. If possible, submit artwork that does not have to be reduced to fit a column width. Check Table 1 for column widths. [Pg.386]

For structures mentioned in tables, provide labeled structures as separate artwork (in text, charts, etc.) and use only their labels in the table. Do not place structures within tables unless you provide the entire table as camera-ready copy. [Pg.154]

The term camera ready originally meant ready for the printer s camera because the first step in the printing process was the printer s photograph of the final copy. Currently, most artwork is scanned digitally, and the electronic files are sent to the printer, so that no camera is involved. Nevertheless, the term camera ready is still used to indicate art in a final form, ready for the publisher s production process. [Pg.386]
