California Professional Engineers mechanism

Barstow, California. He is an active member of ASME and was a recipient of the 1997 Hispanic Professional Engineer Award, for professional achievement in solar energy development. Mr. Chavez received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from New Mexico State University and M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. 

John Alpheus Putnam obtained from University of California, Berkeley CA, the BS degree in 1930, the MS degree in 1934, and the PhD degree in 1943, all in mechanical engineering. He worked after his MS degree as research engineer at Kettleman Hills CA for the Standard Oil Company until 1939, applying in the volumetric and phase behaviour of petroleum hydrocarbons to reservoir analysis. This work on the phase behaviour combined with the fundamentals of flow in porous media was destined to become his major professional interest.
