Bromide, chloride, nitrite, nitrate, sulphate and phosphate

1 Bromide, chloride, nitrite, nitrate, sulphate and phosphate [Pg.77]

When using conventional ion chromatographic separation techniques, it is possible that other matrix anions also common to non saline waters may coelute with bromide. For example, bromide and nitrate elute simultaneously using a standard anion separator column (Dionex No. 30065), standard anion suppressor (Dionex No. 30366) and standard eluant (0.003M sodivun bicarbonate/0.0024M sodium carbonate). [Pg.77]

Nitrate in excess of 17mg L interfered with the elution of bromide and sulphate in excess of 25mg L interfered with the elution of bromide. [Pg.77]

Bachmann and Matusca [105] have described a gas chromatographic method for the determination of pg L quantities of chloride, bromide and iodide in potable water. This method involves reaction of the halide with an acetone solution of 7-oxabicyclo-(4,l,0)heptane in the presence of nitric acid to form halogenated derivatives of cyclohexanol and cyclohexanol nitrate. [Pg.77]

The column effluent passes through a pyrolysis chamber at 800°C and then through a conductivity detector. The solution is injected on to a gas chromatographic column (OV-lO-Chromosorb W-HPl, 80-100 mesh. [Pg.77]
