Gregory Breit (1899-1981) was an American physicist and professor at the New York, Wisconsin, Yaie, Buf-faio universities. Breit and Eugene Wigner introduced the resonance states of parti-cies, and, with Edward Condon, created the proton-proton scattering theory. Breit measured aiso the height of the ionosphere. [Pg.146]
