Breathing and pain

Clinical model Male. Name initials Z.D.D. 42 years old. Patient 5905/75 Data from the anamnesis After wreckage and spill of a significant quantity of concentrated nitric acid, the patient inhaled the evaporations in the air containing nitric oxide, he felt ill, with difficult breathing and pains behind the chest bone. 

Immunologic In a 31-year-old woman episodes of flushing, itching, burning and red eyes, difficulty in breathing, and pain after the use of epinastine eye drops turned out to be due to benzalkonium chloride as a preservative [14 ]. 

Heavy exercise for 2 hours at an exposure of 120 ppb may lead to coughing, shortness of breath, and pain on deep inhalation in healthy adults. Exposures above 120 ppb have resulted in diyness of the throat, shortness of breath, chest tightness and pain, wheezing, flitigue, headache, and nausea. 

Concentrations of nickel carbonyl as low as 30 ppm in air for 30 min may be lethal for humans. Individuals exposed to these high concentrations show immediate symptoms of dizziness, headache, shortness of breath, and vomiting. These early symptoms generally disappear in fresh air, but delayed symptoms may develop 12—36 h later. These latter symptoms include shortness of breath, cyanosis, chest pain, chills, and fever. In severe exposure cases. 

Lethal Arrhythmias. Arrhythmias are a second significant source of cardiovascular problems. An arrhythmia is an abnormal or irregular heart rhythm. Bradyarrhythmias result in heart rates that are too slow tachyarrhythmias cause abnormally fast rates. A bradyarrhythmia can be debiUtating, causing a person to be short of breath, unable to climb stairs, black out, or even to go into cardiac arrest. Tachyarrhythmias can be un settling and painful at best, life-threatening at worst.

Lactic acidosis (buildup of lactic acid in the blood) may also occur with die administration of metformin. Although lactic acidosis is a rare adverse reaction, its occurrence is serious and can be fatal. Lactic acidosis occurs mainly in patients with kidney dysfunction. Symptoms of lactic acidosis include malaise (vague feeling of bodily discomfort), abdominal pain, rapid respirations, shortness of breath, and muscular pain. In some patients vitamin B12 levels are decreased. This can be reversed with vitamin B12 supplements or with discontinuation of the drug therapy. Because... 

Symptoms of bradyarrhythmias include dizziness, fatigue, lightheadedness, syncope, chest pain (in patients with underlying myocardial ischemia), and shortness of breath and other symptoms of heart failure (in patients with underlying left ventricular dysfunction). 

Symptoms typical of tachyarrhythmias include palpitations, dizziness, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, chest pain (if underlying CAD is present), near-syncope, and syncope. Patients commonly complain of palpitations often the complaint is "I can feel my heart beating fast" or "It feels like my heart is going to beat out of my chest."... 

Patients with ascites may complain of abdominal pain, nausea, increasing tightness and fullness in the abdomen, shortness of breath and early satiety. 

Overexposure effects Alpha-chloroacetophenone vapors may cause a tingling or runny nose, burning and/or pain of the eyes, blurred vision, and tears. Burning in the chest, difficult breathing, and nausea may also occur as well as skin irritation, rash, or burns.
