Boron ternary

Rare earth-metal-boron ternary phase diagrams are listed in alphabetical order of the chemical symbol of the rare earth element (Sc, Y, La, Ce,..., Lu). Under each rare earth the systems are listed alphabetically by the chemical symbol of the non-rare-earth element. After the ternary systems, higher order systems are presented following the same scheme. [Pg.337]

Thousands of compounds of the actinide elements have been prepared, and the properties of some of the important binary compounds are summarized in Table 8 (13,17,18,22). The binary compounds with carbon, boron, nitrogen, siUcon, and sulfur are not included these are of interest, however, because of their stabiUty at high temperatures. A large number of ternary compounds, including numerous oxyhaUdes, and more compHcated compounds have been synthesized and characterized. These include many intermediate (nonstoichiometric) oxides, and besides the nitrates, sulfates, peroxides, and carbonates, compounds such as phosphates, arsenates, cyanides, cyanates, thiocyanates, selenocyanates, sulfites, selenates, selenites, teUurates, tellurites, selenides, and teUurides. [Pg.221]

Ternary Pd-catalyzed coupling reactions of bicyclic olefins (most often norbor-nadiene is used) with aryl and vinyl halides and various nucleophiles have been investigated intensively over the past few years [44]. A new approach in this field is to combine Heck and Suzuki reactions using a mixture of phenyliodide, phenyl-boronic acid and the norbornadiene dicarboxylate. Optimizing the conditions led to 84% of the desired biphenylnorbornene dicarboxylate [45]. Substituted phenyl-iodides and phenylboronic acids can also be used, though the variation at the norbornadiene moiety is highly limited. [Pg.371]

Ternary materials that incorporate carbon into a boron-nitrogen framework are expected to exhibit extreme hardness as a result of their diamond-like structures. Alkyl-, vinyl- and alkynyl-substituted borazines are potential... [Pg.125]
