Boiling point, brake fluid

Ethylene glycol is a colorless, odorless, syrupy liquid. It is completely miscible with water. Since it has a low freezing point it is used as antifreeze in automobiles. A high boiling point (197 °C) and heat of vaporization also makes it useful for this purpose. It is also used in hydraulic brake fluid in cars and as a paint, oil, ink and resin solvent. [Pg.45]
