Boats, self-propelled

Water Transport Barges, scows, and special boats have been used in the past to transport sohd wastes to processing locations and to seaside and ocean disposal sites, but ocean disposal is no longer practiced by the United States. Although some self-propelled vessels (such as U.S. Navy garbage scows and other special boats) have been used, most common practice is to use vessels towed by tugs or other special boats. 

These sprayers are usually mounted on tractors, trucks, or boats, but some are self-propelled. Roller and centrifugal pumps are most often used and provide outputs from 5 to more than 20 gallons per acre. Tank sizes range from 50 gallons or less to 1,000 gallons. The spray material is usually hydraulically agitated, but mechanical agitation may be used. 

These sprayers are usually mounted on tractors, trailers, trucks, or boats, or are self-propelled. Piston pumps are used and provide outputs of up to 60... 

The grab hopper dredger may need less assistance since it is self-propelled transporting the dredged materials in its own hopper. Occasionally a crew boat may be required.
