Blind approach

Presently, physicians have to optimize a dosage regimen for an individual patient by a trail-and-error method. This kind of blind approach may cause adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in some patients. In fact, ADRs are found to occur in more than 2 million hospitalizations including approximate 100,000 deaths per year in the United States [1]. Similarly, according to a German study, about 6% of ADRs are attributed to new hospital admissions, and these ADRs were found to be preventable [2]. 

There is a clear trend in current polyolefin research toward the synthesis of novel and well-controlled polymer architectures, leading to materials with special properties and higher added value. Stereoblock polypropylenes can still represent a promising area for development it is up to those who invest in it to take full advantage of the modern experimental and theoretical toolkits, and to transform the traditional, substantially blind approach into a more conscious (and by no means less exciting) scientific adventure.

Baffle separators of the Venetian blind, V, W, and wave types are widely used for spray removal. They have small space requirements and low pressure drops. They operate by diverting the gas stream and ejecting the droplets onto the collector baffles. In humans, poor sleep correlates with low plasma melatonin and can be improved by melatonin administration.
