Biomolecules lipids

Waxes are esters of long-chain fatty acids with long-chain alcohols. 

Linoleic and arachidonic acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids. 

Occasionally, cis-trans bond isomerization takes place. 

Soap is a mixture of the sodium and potassium salts of fatty acids produced by hydrolysis of animal fat. 

Soap acts as a cleanser because the two ends of a soap molecule are different.
