Binder solvents

The agglomeration process is a dynamic process where a droplet is created by a two-fluid nozzle, and deposited on the randomly fluidized particle. The binder solvent evaporates, leaving behind the binder. Before all of the solvent is evaporated, other randomized particles form bonds on the wet site. This process is repeated numerous times to produce desired agglomerated product. There are number of process variables that control the agglomeration. Process variables most important to consider are listed as follows ... [Pg.297]

These process parameters are interdependent and can produce desirable product if this interdependency is understood. Inlet process air temperature is determined by the choice of binder solvent, whether aqueous or organic, and... [Pg.297]

Another interesting fault — that of the binder solvent existing in inordinately large quantities at the bridgewire surface — has been identified by a transient dip halfway across the heating curve. This is indicative of a cooling process caused by the solvent phase change from liquid to gas... [Pg.710]

Modern coating materials are complex mixtures of binders, solvents, pigments, extenders, and additives. Most of these components consist of several constituents. Complete analysis of coating materials therefore requires comprehensive knowledge and the use of various analytical methods. [Pg.235]

Drying the aqueous coating results in an increased volatilisation of binder solvents. This may cause increased odour emissions, due to the evaporation of BTX-containing core solvents. [Pg.193]
