Bidentates selenium-nitrogen ligands

Bidentate ligand systems are also known with selenium and nitrogen donors. For example, Se/N bidentate phosphinochalcogenoic ligand and zinc amides react to form a distorted tetrahedral complex with two di-t-butylphosphinoselenoic isopropylamidate ligands.590... 

Some complexes which satisfy this definition are dealt with elsewhere, however. Those with X or Y as the Group V donors P, As or Sb are dealt with in Chapter 14 of this volume. Those with X or Y = Hg are described in Chapter 11 and the Group IV donors Si, Ge, Sn and Pb are included in Chapter 12.2, With very few exceptions this means that the relevant X,Y combinations are pairs derived from nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur or selenium donor groups. However, some specific examples of these combinations also occur elsewhere in this work. In addition to complex halides and cyanides, the metals form many ammines. Organic compounds of nitrogen, arsenic, sulphur, selenium and tellurium arc other possible ligands. Many complexes with bidentate ligands are known. The various types of isomerism are common thus Pd(NH3)2Cl2 occurs as the pink [Pd (NH3)4] [PdCy and as the yellow cis and trans isomers ...
