Bezafibrate drug interactions

Zimmermann R, Ehlers W, Walter E, Hof ichter A, Lang PD, Andrassy K, Schlierf G. The effect of bezafibrate ontiie fibrinol34 ic enz3nne system and the drug interaction with racemic phenprocomnon. Atherosclerosis (1978) 29, 477-85. [Pg.405]

Like the other weakly polar interactions, amino-aromatic interactions are a mechanism of protein-ligand binding. Perutz et al. (1986) described a series of X-ray crystallographic studies of drugs and peptides bound to deoxy-Hb A. They characterized an amino-aromatic interaction between the 8+ N8—H group of asparagine-108 with the 8 7r-electron cloud of one of the phenyl rings of bezafibrate (see Fig. 20). [Pg.174]

Several interactions between warfarin and hypohpidemic drugs have been described (SEDA-21, 459), including clinically important potentiation of warfarin by bezafibrate (73) and gemfibrozil (74). Two patients developed a significantly increased anticoagulant effect of warfarin while taking fenofibrate (75). [Pg.1361]

Colestyramine does not alter the pharmacokinetics of clofibrate when both drugs are given at the same time. Similarly colestipol does not alter the pharmacokinetics of clofibrate or fenofibrate, and colesevelam does not alter the pharmacokinetics of fenofibrate. Colestipol can reduce the absorption of gemfibrozil if given at the same time, but not if administration is separated by 2 hours. A similar interaction occurs between bezafibrate and colestyramine... [Pg.1089]
