The straight line y = a + bx should be fitted through given points (x, yd, / ( n/3/n) SO that the sum of the squares of the distances of those points from the straight line is minimum, where the distances are measured in the vertical direction (y-direction). 

Therefore, the equation of the best fit straight line is y = 0.9773 - 0.0224x.
