Balancing in operating plants

IBS is usually run on daily basis. Reports (production, inventories, overall refinery yields, etc.) are available in a paper form or as ASCII files or database files on the LAN. There are many IBS reports configured covering all important features of the individual producing complexes. Basic reports are generated and distributed by the IBS Administrator, but the reports generation is accessible also by other IBS clients. Final data from IBS are used as input to the company s accounting system. 

IBS is based fully on PC platform and LAN with NOVELL NetWare. Typical parameters of PC running IBS are 486 processor with 33 MHz. The software takes about 3 MB memory on the hard disk (all data are stored on the data server, data for one day with 1000 streams occupy about 200 kB). Typical reconciliation run with 1000 streams takes about 2 or 3 minutes, depending on how many warning messages and reports are printed on the screen.
