Australian Mobile Telecommunications

The Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA) has recently completed a six month trial that involved 140 retail stores in New South Wales collecting used mobile phone batteries. During the trial, AMTA collected over 100,000 batteries, which included Ni-Cd batteries, as well as other chemistries. The collected batteries were sent to a recycling facility operated by the Melbourne-based company, Ausmelt Limited. [Pg.127]
