Atrioventricular block transient

The most common cardiac effects are atrioventricular block, sinus bradycardia, and ventricular extra beats. Occasionally serious dysrhythmias occur (SEDA-17, 219), including ventricular fibrillation (15). ATP can cause transient atrial fibrillation (16). Chest pain occurs in 30-50% of patients and dyspnea and chest discomfort in 35-55%. Chest pain can occur in patients with and without coronary artery disease, and the symptoms are not always tjrpical of cardiac pain. 

When adenosine (70 micrograms/kg/minute) was given by intravenous infusion to 45 patients with acute myocardial infarction preceding balloon angioplasty, one patient developed persisting hypotension in conjunction with a large inferolateral myocardial infarction (18). Transient hypotension in three other patients resolved with a reduction in dosage. There were no cases of atrioventricular block. 

I Rarer adverse effects stomach ulcers, sino-atrial block and atrioventricular block, seizures, transient ischaemic attacks. 

In one case intravenous flecainide for atrial flbrillation induced a transient Bru-gada-like syndrome, sinus arrest, and total atrioventricular block an SCN5A mutation was subsequently identified [63 ].

A. Ataxia, nystagmus, ophthalmoplegia, movement disorders (dyskinesia, dystonia), mydriasis, and sinus tachycardia are common with mild to moderate overdose. With more serious intoxication, myoclonus, seizures (including status epilepticus), hyperthermia, coma, and respiratory arrest may occur. Atrioventricular (AV) block and bradycardia have been reported, particularly in the elderly. Based on Its structure similarity to tricyclic antidepressants, carbamazepine may cause QRS and QT interval prolongation and myocardial depression however, in case reports of overdose, QRS widening rarely exceeds 100-120 msec and Is usually transient. 

A 76-year-old woman who was taking carvedilol for hypertension and paroxysmal supraventricular dysrhythmias had an attack of transient syncope after taking a single dose of propafenone 600 mg. Her blood pressure was 110/60 mmHg, heart rate 68/minute, and an electrocardiogram showed left bundle branch block and first degree atrioventricular...
