ATR FT-IR Imaging of Drug Diffusion Across Tissue Sections Biomedical Applications

3 ATR FT-IR Imaging of Drug Diffusion Across Tissue Sections Biomedical Applications [Pg.419]

An imaging study on the diffusion of DMSO- /g through porcine skin as a mimic for human skin has also been conducted in transmission mode [95]. In this case, the skin samples (both porcine and human) were formalin fixed, paraffin embedded, and microtomed (human) or frozen before being cryostat sectioned (porcine) to a thickness appropriate for transmission mode FT-IR spectroscopy (10 pm). FT-IR spectroscopy was used to confirm the chemical similarity of human and porcine skin, and thereafter transmission mode imaging was used to study the diffusion of the DMSO-rfg through the porcine sample as a function of time. [Pg.421]

Surface Modification for Protein Crystallization Silane surface modification chemistry is robust and well known. Since Si can be used for ATR FT-IR, it was possible [Pg.422]
