Aswan High Dam

The climate of the Nile Valley was stable and predictable prior to the construction of the Aswan high dam. Although the effects of annual inundations were removed with the construction of the dam, the ensuing climatic changes ushered in a new set of phenomena that threaten the Nile Basin and its people, from Alexandria to Aswan.
