Association of Navigation Congresses

PIANC (1997) Handling and treatment of contaminated dredged material from ports and inland waterways, Permanent International Association of Navigation Congresses (PIANC), Report of Working Group No. 17, Supplement to Bulletin No. 89. 

He was a member of the US Commission of Large Dams, and the Permanent International Association of Navigation Congress PIANC. He was appointed to the National Academy of Engineers, and was a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers ASCE, serving as member in its Executive Committee of the Hydraulics Division ASCE from 1968 to 1974. 

The Permanent International Association of Navigation Congresses (1972) adopted a system of classification of soils, reviewed by Sargent (1984) and summarized in Tables...

The International Navigation Association was formerly known as the Permanent International Association of Navigation Congresses and retains the acronym PIANC. 

He was a member of the Ameriean Society of Civil Engineers ASCE, the American Concrete Institute ACI, the Permanent International Assoeiation of Navigation Congresses PIANC, and of the International Association of Hydraulic Research lAHR.
