Assistant headteachers

The role of inclusion manager, assistant headteacher (inclusion), curriculum leader for SEN/ inclusion or the headteacher in a small school is a considerable one, which involves the effective management of a wide range of resources in order to maximise impact on pupils. Not for the fainthearted. 

Overall, seventy-three informants - staff, parents and students from the schools and the Inclusion Proj ect - contributed to the data analysed. The status of these informants is usually clear in the analysis, though specific identities are protected through pseudonyms or by complete anonymity. Teachers have been referred to as classteacher , headteacher , subject teacher etc. where relevant. The designation LSA (Learning Support Assistant) has been used for both school and Inclusion Project support assistants.
