Assessment responsibilities and criteria

The regulatory body shall be effectively independent of the operating organization. To be effective, the regulatory body shall be provided with the legal powers, statutory authority and resources needed to ensure that it can fulfil its responsibilities and functions. Such powers normally include the ability to regulate the research reactor project by the issue of licences, with attached conditions, and by inspections of performance and conformance. [Pg.5]
