Asphalts and Waxes C28

Asphalt is a bituminous substance that is found in natural deposits or as the residual of in petroleum or coal tar refining processes. It has a black or brownish-black color and pitchy luster. It is cement-like in [Pg.37]

About 75 percent of U.S. production of petroleum asphalt is used for paving while 15 percent is used for roofing. The remaining 10 percent is used for the more than 200 other known uses of asphalt. [Pg.38]
