Marine and fresh waters in Australia should not contain more than 50 Xgl—1 of arsenic (National Environment Protection Council, 1999, 10). Australian irrigation and livestock water should not contain more than 100 and 500 pgl-1 of arsenic, respectively (National Environment Protection Council, 1999, 10).
