Arsenic trichloride reacts with dilithium phthalocyanine in dimethyl-formamide to yield chloroarsenic phthalocyanine 808), which does not react with silver ions in pyridine. Its absorption spectrum has been recorded (Section V,B), but little else is known of the complex. 

A connectivity of 1 is given for side chain metal-containing polymers as 1 in which the metal complex is connected via one bond to the main chain [11]. Additional examples for other connectivities are (Fig. 1-8) connectivity 2 in metal(yne)s 2 [12] connectivity 3 in arsenic(III) sulfide 3 connectivity 4 in a polymeric methyl rhenium oxide of the formula Ho.5[(CH3)o.92Re03] co 4 [13] or polymeric phthalocyanines 5 [14] connectivity 8 in lanthanide complexes of bis(tetradendate) Schiff base bridging ligands 6 [15]. 

More recently, polychlorophthalocyanine (average chlorine content 10.3) was obtained by heating crude copper phthalocyanine with chlorosulfonic acid, sulfur and iodine in a stream of chlorine gas at 90 °C. As mentioned in the Introduction (Chapter 1, p 3), chlorosulfonic acid acts as a chlorinating agent in its reaction with sulfur, which is converted into sulfur dichloride and other products. Similarly warm chlorosulfonic acid converted arsenic, antimony and tin into the corresponding tetrachlorides (see Chapter 7, p 226).
