Uses raw data from field tests to compute hydraulic conductivity computed value is evaluated by the expert system for its correctness with regard to these considerations site-specific geological characteristics, validity of test procedures, accuracy of the raw data, and the computational method. System is written in Arity-Prolog on a PC. [Pg.292]

Crohn s disease Leukocytosis, decreased hematocrit/hemoglobin, elevated ESR, guaiac-positive stool, (+) ariti-5accharomyces cerevisiae antibodies (up to 50% of patients), hypoalbuminemia with severe disease... [Pg.284]

However, there is still substantial ambiguity concerning the nucle-arity of 33 and the exact nature of the this high-valent iron species and the mechanism proposed to account for its formation should therefore be considered quite speculative. Future spectroscopic studies will undoubtedly shed new light on the nature of this interesting intermediate. [Pg.117]

The set of internal nodes used in the parse trees is known as the function set F, where F = /i,/2, All functions have an arity (the number of arguments) greater than 1. The set of terminal (leaf) nodes in the parse tree is, predictably,... [Pg.28]

Carbonylation of different palladium complexes, often in the presence of phosphines, led to the synthesis of a variety of clusters including halocarbonyl clusters of unknown nucle-arity [PdX(CO)] (X = Cl, Br), and phosphine-carbonyl clusters from tetrameric [Pd4(CO)s(PR3)4] to high nuclear-ity compounds such as [Pd38(/r -CO)4(/u. -CO)24(PEt3)i2]. From these preformed clusters, nanosized cluster compounds of higher nuclearity such as [Pd69(CO)36(PEt3)ig] can be prepared. ... [Pg.3534]

More recentfy Mohlin and Gray (9J) determined adsorption isotherms on cellulose fibers for a variety of adsorbates (solutes). From the experimental type II isotherms specific surface areas of the fibers were computed, for eadi solute, with the results en in Table 11. The agreement observed between the different solutes is quite remarkable considering that the area of the solute molecule on the potymer surface must be known or estimated. Hie sirface area determined by nitrogen adsorption measurements at —196° was included for the purpose of comparison. The sli t di arity could possibly indicate that the area available to the smaller nitrogen molecule may be somewhat larger (1.9 compared to 1.6 m g" ). [Pg.137]
