Architecture future trends

In a plenary session, Myra Williams of Merck, Sharp and Dohme considered future trends from the point of view of the information manager and strategic planner in industry. She emphasises the need for integration, open architecture and a uniform user interface.

Future PHA biosynthesis research will be further motivated and inspired by coordinately organizing new trends such as PHA-based micro-/nano-bead architectures,systems biotechnology, biomedical material-oriented applications, and various omics studies. 

In conclusion, the approach to modelling partitioned systems advocated by CONCERTO and MultiPARTES is very similar, as summarized in Table 1. However, the reasons to prefer a virtualisation architecture need to be justified by specific needs, such as the execution on AMPs or the integration of systems with different criticality levels on the same machine. It is questionable whether these trends will dominate future avionics systems. Yet the known issues concerning time composability and scheduling of applications encoimtered in traditional OS design need to be addressed in both scenarios.
