Two approaches for the treatment of this condition are possible either reconstruction of the aortic artery in open chest surgery, or an endovascular aneurism repair procedure. In medical procedures, the current trend is to minimize the open chest surgery and to prioritize minimally invasive methods whenever possible. The latter results in less physiological disturbance and faster recovery times.
