In periods of significant downsizing or hiring, S IH shall be included in management discussions in order to anticipate potential impact the change may have on the business. 

The validity check shows a construction duration of 10 months, one month longer than anticipated in the Initial Plan of Action in Chapter 5. Since an 18-month total project duration is important due to business considerations this delay could have a serious impact on the project economics and corrective action must be taken. 

To pose a risk, a constituent must be present in the environment at a concentration high enough to cause a toxic effect if exposure occurs. Complete pathways must exist, and exposure to a constituent at that concentration must occur. Without the potential for exposure to a constituent, there is no risk therefore, the driving force behind any remediation would not be the protection of human health. If no complete exposure pathways exist now or are not anticipated to exist in the foreseeable future at a site, the RBCA process technically can be terminated at this point as there is no risk. One example of this concept is the lack of exposure to impacted subsurface soil beneath a building that houses an operating business. However, it is often difficult to determine the future use of a site, and it may be necessary to evaluate potential risks associated with hypothetical future exposure. A key to the Tier 1 evaluation is the development of a conceptual site model that evaluates the possible exposure pathways for the site under current and hypothetical future conditions. 

The opportunity for industry today is to understand its impact on stakeholders, anticipate changing societal expectations, and use its capacity for innovation to create additional business value from superior social and environmental performance. Capitalizing on this opportunity requires that companies apply the same systematic discipline in managing social and environmental performance as they do in managing other aspects of business performance. 

When evaluating the impact of seasonal variability on the forecast, the planner has several indicators that can be used to refine the forecast. Leading and lagging economic indicators of the general business cycles can aid the forecaster in the refinement of plans. The Department of Commerce creates an index of well-known economic indicators. This index can be effectively applied to medium-and long-range forecasts to anticipate demand in the transportation of goods.
