Certain corneal stromal deposition (yellow-brown gold particles, sparing the periphery and superior cornea), anterior subcapsular cataract. 

Certain corneal pigment (white, yellow, brown, or black) anterior subcapsular cataract all rarely causing visual symptoms of haziness or halos oculogyric crisis... 

A 43-year-old man developed impaired vision in both eyes over 3 months. Anterior subcapsular opacities were found in both eyes, necessitating cataract extraction. He had been taking finasteride 1 mg/day for 3 years to treat the early stage of androgenic alopecia. It was suspected that the drug was responsible and the treatment was therefore withdrawn. 

Lens Pigment and cellular debris, similar to KPs, are often detected on the anterior lens surfece. Faint fibrin membranes at the pupillary margin may precede areas of posterior synechiae. Cataracts are an important consideration in chronic recalcitrant uveitis and for those on long-term corticosteroid therapy, because the latter is also linked with the development of posterior subcapsular cataracts. 

Complications associated with anterior uveitis may include cataracts, glaucoma, band keratopathy, and CME. Posterior subcapsular cataracts are the most commonly encountered lenticular change associated with chronic uveitis. Additionally, it is well known that long-term topical steroid use can induce or accelerate posterior subcapsular cataract development.

Again in the 1950s, triparanol (MER-29) was introduced as a drug to reduce blood cholesterol in patients with hypercholesterolaemia. It was withdrawn from clinical use in April 1962. In addition to skin lesions, loss of hair and libido, the main ocular side-effect in man associated with the oral application of this drug was the formation of anterior and posterior subcapsular cataracts, in general, with a latency of 8 - 9 months (Laughlin and Carey, 1962). Retrospectively, cataracts were reproduced within 3 months in rats (v. Sallmann et al., 1963) and within 5-7 months in dogs, but not in monkeys (Bellows, 1963). 

Early diabetic cataractous changes were observed in the diabetic control group by slit lamp examination 9 days after ARI treatment. In contrast, the AD-5467 treatment diabetes group (DM+ARI) showed a very slight lens change at the anterior subcapsular region (Figure 2). 

Biomicroscopy of the anterior segment typically reveals little in cases of intermediate uveitis, although occasionally a few spillover cells may be seen in the aqueous. Hallmark findings of anterior uveitis, such as conjimctival hyperemia, KPs, and iris nodules, are characteristically absent. Late-stage findings may include corneal band keratopathy, anterior and/or posterior synechia, and cataract (most commonly of the posterior subcapsular variety). 

In week 8, slight subcapsular opacities were detected in the anterior lens, too. Up to week 15, these posterior lens opacities progressed rapidly to moderate or severe cortical and nuclear cataracts (Figures 3-4) in all animals (Figure 11).
