Amino acids dithiocarboxylates

Interconversion of thiono- and dithio-esters has been considered earlier (p. 179). The reaction of these compounds with amines has remained one of the most important and widely applied methods for the preparation of thioamides and related substances. This is especially true for carboxymethyl dithio-benzoates, - but other alkyl dithiocarboxylates > > - or RC(S)SSR work as well in many cases. For example, MeCSaMe reacted with amino-acids, free peptides, and peptides which were fixed to a polystyrene matrix, and the terminal A-thioacetyl amino-acid was split off by CF3CO2H to give 2-substituted thiazol-5-ones, which served to identify the -terminal amino-... [Pg.182]

In 1962 Gompper, Kutter, and Topfl prepared substituted thieno-thiophenes (1) from dithiocarboxylate s ts. With haloacetic acid derivatives these give ketenemercaptals (104), which are easily converted by base into 3-amino- and 3-hydroxythiophenes (105). Further cyclization of 105 results in substituted thienotMophenes 106, which may also be obtained directly by heating the dithiocarboxylates with haloacetic acid derivatives in alcoholic sodium alkoxide (Scheme 7). [Pg.147]

Goewie et al. (19) developed an organometallic-silica bonded phase for the selective retention of phenylurea herbicides and anilines from water. Seven-micrometer diameter silica was derivatized with 2-amino-1-cyclopentene-l-dithiocarboxylic acid (ACDA), resulting in Structure I. Capacity factors of phenylurea herbicides and corresponding anilines were measured on the ACDA-silica and ACDA-metal-loaded silica. The platinum-loaded material was found to selectively retain the anilines. Anilines could be eluted with acetonitrile, but not with methanol or tetrahydrofuran, because of the strength with which acetonitrile forms complexes with platinum and thus displaces the anilines. Application of the ACDA-Pt precolumn in series with an ODS-silica precolumn for... [Pg.113]

Bismuth tris(2-amino-l-cyclopentene-l-dithiocarboxylate) 1 and 2-(ethyla-mino)cyclopentene-l-dithiocar-boxylate 2 are obtained as red crystals by treating BiCl3 or BiOCl with the corresponding dithiocarboxylic acids in EtOH. Compound 1 is insoluble in common organic solvents except for DMF and DMSO, in which it is sparingly soluble. Compound 2 is moderately soluble in common organic solvents [87IC1453]. [Pg.181]

Chemical immobilization of 2-amino-1-cyclopentene-1-dithiocarboxylic acid as a chelating compound on the surface of silica gel was prepared. This showed great affinity for removal of Ag(I), Hg(II), and Pd(II) from dilute matrices, with exchange capacities in the range of 0.98-0.90 mmol/g. Fast equilibration times for these metal ions were determined (Scheme 18). " ... [Pg.1450]
