Amido lithium magnesiates

Three solvent-separated tris (amido) lithium magnesiates have been reported since 2007. All three are tris(HMDS) (1,1,1,3,3,3-hexamethyldisiliazide)... 

Two halide containing amido lithium magnesiates [(THF)3LiMg(TMP) Cy 18 (Fig. 13) and the dimeric [(THF)2LiMg(N Pr2)Cl2]2 19 (Fig. 14) have recently been reported. These are of particular importance to the well-developed synthetic area of turbo-Hauser metalation chemistry pioneered... 

Magnesium amides can form a wide range of mixed metal amido complexes with alkali metal ions (M2[Mg(NH2)4]) (M = K, Rb or Cs).These contain tetrahedral Mg-centered [Mg(NH2)4] ions connected in three-dimensional networks by coordination of the amido groups to the group 1 metal ions. The most common hetero metal is lithium and lithium amido magnesiates are readily accessible by the addition of a lithium amide to a magnesium amide. 

Only one example [Li2Mg (NDipp)2SiMe2)2] 15 (Fig. 10) of a hi er-order heteroleptic amido magnesiate has been published between 2007 and 2015. It incorporates the bulky dianionic bis(amido)silane ligand [Me2Si (DippN)2j (where Dipp is diisopropylphenyl). The Mg atom is tetrahedrally disposed—r (N,N)-bound to two bis(amido)silane ligands—and the lithium atoms lithium atoms is provided by rr-coordination to an arene-C atom (Fig. 10).
