Phosphate amide

The NaPb-C2HsCl reaction is characterized by an induction period. This induction period can be shortened by the use of various reaction accelerators, such as acetone and other ketones, esters, aldehydes, acid anhydrides, ketals, amides, phosphates, and metal alkoxides 34,50,51,95, 96,246,284), induction period can also be shortened by the substitution of a small amount of potassium for the sodium in the alloy (on an atom basis) such potassium substitution also increases the yield and minimizes Wurtz-type reactions 49,288,289,320). [Pg.57]

Ferrocene has been reported to be very effective as a soot reducing agent in combustion [42 — 44]. Thus, when ferrocene compounds are incorporated in a fire retardant polymer, such as a phenolphthalein-based polymer and poly(phosphate ester)s, they have shown added advantages in that they promote extinction and reduce smoke formation by accelerated char reduction [45, 46]. The synthesis of such ferrocene-containing poly(phosphate ester)s was achieved by interfacial polycondensation using a phase transfer catalyst [47]. Accordingly, l,l -bis(p-hydroxy-phenylamido)ferrocene and l,l -bis(p-hydroxyphenylcarbonyl)ferrocene underwent condensation with various aryl phosphoroic acid dichlorides to yield two series of ferrocene-containing polymers, i.e., poly (amide-phosphate ester)s 38a and poly(ester-phosphate ester)s 38b respectively, as shown in Scheme 10-17. [Pg.513]

Hydrolysis of peptides, " amides, phosphate esters, sulfonate esters and acetals can also be metal catalyzed. The hydrolysis of a phosphate ester coordinated to cobalt(III) also occurs at an increased rate (Scheme 19). A rather similar reaction occurs in the amine exchange of coordinated dithiocarbamates (equation 21). The conversion of imidates to amidines has been mentioned previously and is a similar type of reaction (see Section 7.4.2.2.1). [Pg.443]

Direct C-C links between sugars would generally be difficult to form, without problems of steric hindrance and bridges of the C-O-C (ether) type would be more plausible. Likewise, ester linkages between hydroxyl and carboxyl groups are conveivable, as are various forms of (for example) amide, phosphate ester, sulphate ester, or sulphamido-bridges. However, there is... [Pg.196]

A discussion Is given of standard states appropriate to biochemical thermodynamics. Tabulated are Gibbs energies of hydrolysis of esters of acetic acid and related compounds, of thiol esters, amides, phosphates, and of glycolysis (and of decarboxylation). [Pg.804]
