Ambroxol hydrochloride

Developed standai d validation procedure is demonstrated for validation of a spectrophotometric assay of ambroxol hydrochloride tablets. Without any considerable revisions, this approach may be applied to chromatographic methods. Recommendations for validation criteria were included in the State Phai macopoeia of Ukraine.

Bromhexine hydrochloride (Bisolvan) is a bronchial mucolytic agent and secretagogue that may have a stimulating effect on tear secretion. Oral bromhexine and its derivative ambroxol have equivocal results in clinical trials and are associated with side effects of nausea, sweating, and rashes. 

Among the most frequently used organic solvents is chloroform, used for the determination of many analytes in various samples free cyanide and thiocyanate ions in human saliva chlorophenols in urine and Bi(III), ethambutol hydrochloride, diclofenac, phenothiazine derivatives, imipramine, warfarin, flufenamic acid, and ethylmorphine in pharmaceutical preparations. Another proposed solvent is dichloro-ethane, used for the determination of bromhexine in serum and imipramine, ambroxol, berberine, bromhexine, neostigmine, 8-chlorotheophylline, and diphenhydramine in pharmaceutical samples.
