Aluminium iso-propoxide

The potential of advanced synthesis techniques to develop CaO-based sorbents stabilized by a support material has been demonstrated recently by Broda et al. [74] who synthesized AhOs-stabilized CO2 sorbents by employing a sol-gel technique. Here, aluminium iso-propoxide was added to reverse osmosis water (15 Mf2 cm) and allowed to hydrolyse for 30 min at 75 °C. Subsequently, a calcium precursor, i.e. calcium acetate hydrate (Ca(CH300)2-H20), calcium nitrate tetrahydrate (Ca(N03)2-4H20) or calcium acetylacetonate (Ca(CsH702)), was dissolved in water and, together with an acid (either acetic or nitric acid), added... 

Hollow silica-alumina composite spheres were prepared by polystyrene (PS) template method as follows. The monodisperse PS particles were prepared by emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization [11], The content of PS particles with the diameter of ca. 200 - 300 nm could be tailored through the addition of ethyl alcohol. Then, 15.0 g of the PS template suspension and 6.75 mL of aqueous L(+)-arginine (0.2325 g, Kanto Chem. Co.) solution were added into 40 mL of ethyl alcohol, and then, 20 mL of aluminium(IV) iso-propoxide (AIP, 0.0057 g, Aldrich) / ethyl alcohol solution was added into the mixed solution, following the addition of 0.1551 mL of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS, Kanto Chem. Co., > 99.9 %). The sol-gel reaction was carried out at 323 K for 17 h, and as-prepared hollow silica-alumina composite spheres could be directly obtained. Coates and co-workers reported polymerizations using both the enantiomerically pure (7) and the racemic (8) Ao-propoxide analogues [21], Complex 8 polymerized rac-lactide iso-selectively producing stereoblock PLA (P = 0.96). The isoselectivity was achieved due to the high selectivity of 7 for RR-lactide and corresponding S -enantiomer for S S -lactide.
