Entries in CASSI include the following information complete title for a serial or a nonserial publication, abbreviated title, variant title, ISSN, ISBN, translation of the title (for some foreign language titles only), name and address of the publisher or sales agency where the publications may be obtained, and a history of the serial publication, such as predecessor and successor titles. Entries in CASSI are arranged alphabetically according to the abbreviated form of the serial or nonserial title. [Pg.7]

Synonyms for the entry name are listed alphabetically. Synonyms include other chemical names, common or generic names, foreign names (with the language in parentheses), or codes. Some s)monyms consist in whole or in part of registered trademarks. These trademarks are not identified as such. The reader is cautioned that some synonyms, particularly common names, may be ambiguous and refer to more than one material. [Pg.1968]

Similar alphabetization problems are to be met with in Croatian, Finnish, Hungarian, Slovenian, Turkish, and other languages which the table does not attempt to cover. Nearly all cases can be anticipated by carefully scanning foreign indexes before use, with special attention to the end of the alphabet and to the end of the listing for each letter. [Pg.509]

No discussion on transliteration of a foreign alphabet is complete without mentioning how this other alphabet is treating the Latin alphabet.
