All /rans-retinoic acid

A considerable amount of work has been reported on the use of MALDI mass spectrometry to examine synthetic polymers. The most popular matrices are DHB, HABA, 1,8,9-trihydroxyanthracene (di-thranol), and all- rans-retinoic acid, doped with a cationization reagent such as copper or silver. The oligomer distribution, the composition of the end groups, the repeat unit, and the nature of any chemical modifications can all be determined if oligomer... [Pg.2837]

The first part of this chapter is devoted to the results of toxicologic, mutagenic, teratogenic, and carcinogenic studies with isotretinoin and etretinate when appropriate, a comparison with results for retinol and tretinoin (all-(rans-retinoic acid) is presented. The second part of this chapter is devoted to a description of clinical or human toxicity. [Pg.288]

Retinoic Acid Receptor. Most of the biological effects of retinoids are mediated through the retinoic acid receptor (RAR) and the retinoid X receptor (RXR). Both all-/ran.s-retinoic acid and 9-d.v-rctinoic acid serve as agonists of RAR, while only 9-d.v-rctinoic acid functions as an agonist of RXR. The functional RAR exists as a heterodimer with RXR, while functional RXR exists as a homodimer. Methoprene is a juvenile hormone III analogue that mimics the activity of this insect hormone. [Pg.307]
