Alkanedioates —

Formation of AllylEsters. AEyl esters are formed by reaction of aEyl chloride with sodium salts of appropriate acids under conditions of controEed pH. Esters of the lower alkanoic, alkenoic, alkanedioic, cycloalkanoic, benzenecarboxyEc, alkylbenzene carboxyEc, and aromatic dicarboxyEc acids maybe prepared in this manner (25). Ketones can also be prepared directly from carboxylic acids by activation as mixed anhydrides by dimethyl dicarbonate.236 These conditions were used successfully with alkanoic and alkanedioic acids, was well as aromatic acids. 

Another irreversible approach was performed by using bis(2,3-butanedione monoxime) alkanedioates as diester substrate [45]. Lipase MM efficiently produced the polymer with Mn up to 7.0 x 103.
