Alkaloids and other amines

A number of simpler chiral amines are also available in high enantiomeric purity from resolution. Both (/ )-1 -phenylethylamine (or a-methylbenzylamine) (21) and its (5)-enantiomer can be obtained at reasonable cost and have been widely used.
