An expansion Joint connects two straight, normally aligned sections of the same run of busbars. 

A flexible Joint may also htive to connect two non-aligned sections of current-carrying conductors, which may also be different in configuration and size (Figure 29.10). They may therefore be longer than an expansion... 

Ideally the compressor can be placed on the foundation, aligned, grouted, and piping connected. Shortly thereafter, the unit can be started. Most of the time there are lags between the various steps. User careles.s-ness here can delay ultimate startup and may mar what otherwise might have been a very successful installation. 

An inspection for shipping damage should be made of the lube console and reservoir. Shipping blocks should be removed and, where permanent supports are used, they should be installed. The drivers should be uncoupled and connected to their respective power sources. As they are operated, uncoupled direction of rotation should be noted. When all checks out, the pumps should be aligned and connected to their drivers.

If one attempts to build a second coaxial knee around the ideal (12,0)-(7,7) knee at an interlayer distance of 3.46 A, the second layer requires a (21,0)-( 12,12) knee. In this case, the axis going through the centers of the heptagon and of the pentagon of each tubule are not aligned. Moreover, the difference of diameter between the two connected segments of each knee is not the same for the two knees [Fig. 3(b)]. 

It is common practice to support the fan on anti-vibration mountings and connect the fan casing to the duct by short lengths of flexible non-combustible material. Care should be taken during installation to see that these are aligned to prevent entry turbulence and noise generation. 

Piping should easily fit the compressor connections without needing to spring or twist it to fit. It must be supported independently of the compressor and anchored, as necessary, to limit vibration and to prevent expansion strains. Improperly installed piping may distort or pull the compressor s cylinders or casing out of alignment. 

In addition to the size of the molecules and their distribution, the shapes or structures of individual polymer molecules also play an important role in determining the properties and processability of plastics. There are those that are formed by aligning themselves into long chains of molecules and others with branches or lateral connections to form complex structures. All these forms exist in either two or three dimensions.
