Aggregation trimer

The issue of water in reverse micellar cores is important because water swollen reverse micelles (reverse microemulsions) provide means for carrying almost any water-soluble component into a predominantly oil-continuous solution (see discussions of microemulsions and micellar catalysis below). In tire absence of water it appears tliat premicellar aggregates (pairs, trimers etc.) are commonly found in surfactant-in-oil solutions [47]. Critical micelle concentrations do exist (witli some exceptions).

This experiment shows that folding of the non-helix or poor helix-forming sequence is encouraged in the triple helix too, even if this part of the helix contributes to a decrease of the folding strength. Sedimentation and hydrodynamic measurements clearly show the formation of a trimer aggregation and of an extended shape. 

However, the free acid quickly starts to condense with itself, accompanied by the elimination of water to form dimers, trimers and eventually polymeric silicic acid. The polymer continues to grow, initially forming polymer aggregates and then polymer spheres, a few Angstroms in diameter. These polymeric spheres are termed the primary particles of silica gel and must not to be confused with the macro-particles of silica gel that are packed into the LC column. 

Figure 4.20 shows variation of electric conductivity of ZnO film in time during bombardment with silver atoms and under conditions, when the atomic beam was terminated. We believe, that the obtained results (the behaviour of conductivity in time, its relaxation) can be explained by competition of adsorption and surface aggregation of adatoms leading to the appearance of larger particles of silver (dimers, trimers, and so on) on the surface.
