It is convenient to distinguish some categories, depending on the number of molecules,Alagg. that compose one aggregate structure.

These were issues that were mentioned predominantly in time-period 1 but not time-period 2. These characterize actions that were taken in the first period of the study but that were discontinued in the second period. A frequency difference of three or more would represent predominance for a sample of this size at the individual firm level (more sophisticated statistical tests of frequency differences were employed in the grand aggregation stage of this research). 

In discussing the mechanisms of the formation of monodispersed colloids by precipitation in homogeneous solutions, it is necessary to consider both the chemical and physical aspects of the processes involved. The former require information on the composition of all species in solution, and especially of those that directly lead to the solid phase formation, while the latter deal with the nucleation, particle growth, and/or aggregation stages of the systems under investigation. In both instances, the kinetics of these processes play an essential role in defining the properties of the final products.

In addition, cloud cover is known to partially block solar radiation. Thus, mountain forests subject to cloud immersion may suffer from insufficient photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) during the growing season at certain elevations where condensation of water vapor to cloud aggregation stage is greatest. For example, forest around Whiteface Mt, New York State, growing at 1050 m asl may be immersed in clouds for 10% of the year, but 35% of the time at 1350 m asl (Miller et al., 1993). Whether the trend is maintained at higher altitude until the treeline is reached, or is also applicable to other latitudes is unlikely as mountain climates vary widely.

From a kinetic point of view, the value of the mean optical contrast can be obtained at each step of the aggregation process. In addition, from the correlation between the mean optical contrast and the aggregate structure that is established by numerical simulation, it is possible to determine aggregate structure at each aggregation stage.
