Toluene, THF and acetone are described as basic solvents. The residual solvent molecules can therefore only weakly interact with the acrylate groups. Interactions between chains are then favored and self-associations between PMMA chains appear. The rotation of the aery late groups becomes more difficult compared to the bulk PMMA, probably due to self-aggregation of some PMMA chains (even if the studied polymer is not stereoregular). 

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Eastern Region Laboratory first developed poly aery late elastomers in the 1940s [1]. The hrst commercial introduction of these rubbers was in 1947 by B.F. Goodrich. Since then there have been many upgrades in the quality and technical capabilities of these polymers. There were several curing systems developed to achieve improved properties [2-5]. 

Quantitative determination of the various organic and inorganic components detected by the qualitative tests. Most often, ion chromatography is used for determination of sulfate phosphate and polyphosphates chelates such as NTA, EDTA, and gluconate and other lower molecular weight components. Capillary electrophoresis may also be used. Gas chromatography is applied to quantification of solvents and propellants. Specialized tests are required to determine poly aery late builders One quick semi-quantitative test is based on pyrolysis GC-MS of a water extract after addition of tetramethylammonium hydroxide. Peaks of methyl acrylate and methyl fumarate indicate the presence of acrylate and maleate polymers and/or copolymers (14). 

A polyblend of superior impact strength has been claimed by Phillips Petroleum (44) and is obtained by blending SAN with a styrene/butadiene/caprolactone terblock polymer. Impact PVC is manufactured by blending the homopolymer with an elastomeric compound such as ABS, MBS, or aery lonitri le/raethacry late/ butadiene/styrene (AMBS).
