Mixtures of a titanium complex of saturated diols, such as TYZOR OGT, and a titanium acylate, such as bis- -butyl-bis-caproic acid titanate, do not have a yellowing or discoloring effect on white inks used to print polyolefin surfaces (506). The complexes formed by the reaction of one or two moles of diethyl citrate with TYZOR TPT have an insignificant color on their own and do not generate color with phenol-based antioxidants (507). The complexes formed by the addition of a mixture of mono- and dialkyl phosphate esters to TYZOR TBT are also low color-generating, adhesion-promoting additives for use in printing polyolefin films (508). [Pg.163]

SYNTHESIS To a well-stirred ice-cold suspension of 2.8 g p-dimethoxybenzene and 3.2 mL N,N,N, N -tetramethylethylenediamine in 100 ml petroleum ether under an inert atmosphere of He, there was added 13 mL of a 1.6 N solution of butyllithium in hexane. The suspended dimethoxybenzene became opaque and there was a pale yellow color generated. The reaction mixture was warmed to room temperature which converted it to light white solids. After an additional 0.5 h stirring, there was added, slowly, 3.6 g of di-(t)-butyldisulfide. [Pg.760]

In order to represent 3D molecular models it is necessary to supply structure files with 3D information (e.g., pdb, xyz, df, mol, etc.. If structures from a structure editor are used directly, the files do not normally include 3D data. Indusion of such data can be achieved only via 3D structure generators, force-field calculations, etc. 3D structures can then be represented in various display modes, e.g., wire frame, balls and sticks, space-filling (see Section 2.11). An important mode of oxidation for -phenylenediamines is the formation of ben2oquinonediimines, easily obtained by oxidation with silver oxide in ether solution (17). DHmines undergo 1,4 additions with amines to generate tri- and tetraamines which readily oxidi2e in air to highly conjugated, colored products. An example of this is the formation of Bandrowski s base [20048-27-5] when -phenylenediamine is oxidi2ed with potassium ferricyanide (18). [Pg.254]

Arsenic. Total arsenic concentration can be determined by reduction of all forms to arsine (AsH ) and collection of the arsine in a pyridine solution of silver diethyldithiocarbamate. Organoarsenides must be digested in acidic potassium persulfate prior to reduction. The complex that forms is deep red, and this color can be measured spectrophotometricaHy. Reduction is carried out in an acidic solution of KI—SnCl2, and AsH is generated by addition of 2inc. [Pg.232]
